About Caren Frost Olmsted

Caren Frost Olmsted is committed to her passion for art & the creativity it brings to your life & hers. From her earliest memories, she has always had a paint brush in her hand. After earning a BA in Theater Design from Bates College in Maine, she painted & created lighting designs for theaters along the East Coast, eventually settling in North Carolina. In 1999, she completed a BS in Art Education at Appalachian State University, & taught middle school Art in the Georgia & North Carolina public school systems for the next four years. In 2002, after the birth of her first son, she formed Caren Frost Olmsted Design. Creating CFO Design has given her the opportunity to connect not only with many amazing people, but also with her clients’ deep & abiding passion to have their environments reflect who they are & what they love & believe in.

Caren has completed a wide variety of commissioned fine art projects such as paintings, drawings, murals, festival posters, illustrations, & more under her company name CFO Design. She works with private collectors in New York, New Jersey, Chicago, Minneapolis, Cleveland, Asheville, Key West & San Francisco. Caren’s love of functional art led her into painting various types of stringed instruments. You can view even more about Caren’s instruments at myspace.com/carenfrostolmsted. The first gallery showing of the instruments was in the Fall of 2006 at Pura Vida in Asheville, NC. Caren has recently completed illustrating a book called “The Woman’s Field Guide to Extraordinary Living,” by Corrie Woods (published by Morgan James) which should hit bookstores nationally in early 2008. In March of 2007, Caren’s mural work was featured on the nationally syndicated show, “Moving Up.”

The CFO Design studios are located in Basking Ridge, NJ. We primarily serve the Bernardsville & Somerset Hills, NJ area, as well as Somerset County, Morris County, New York City, & beyond. She lives with her husband, Chris, & two sons, Benjamin & Matthew, who enthusiastically support all of her artistic endeavors.
